Our Projects
Climate Sealutions Initiative is focused on providing a climate solutions intelligence system including tools that will enable easy identification and evaluation of available climate solutions including an open 'Climate Solutions Screener', a 'Climate Solutions Map', youth-engaged communications, and other roadmaps for implementation and scaling. Our products are intended for broad audiences including industry, entrepreneurs, researchers, policy-makers, and the general public. They are underpinned by an open partner-sourced, crowd-sourced, quality curated, and flexible database. They are organized into the following four categories:
Climate Solutions Screener
A central portal to evaluate and screen climate solutions is urgently needed. We aim to adapt the architecture of a financial stock screener in creating an open tool for anyone to research and uniquely sort and filter climate solutions based on available ratings. This will advance the strategic application and development of solutions by any interested parties. A flexible underlying database will underpin all Sealutions product areas. The Fidelity stock screener is an example of a platform that can be replicated for a climate solutions sorter.
Climate Solutions Map
Different environmental contexts require different climate solutions. The Local Environmental Observer (LEO) Network from the Center for Climate and Health allows anyone to highlight local environmental change events, thereby illuminating regional and global changes. We will advance the incorporation of climate solutions in the LEO platform, and elsewhere, by developing a standardized solutions tagging taxonomy, which will enable solutions mapping, connections, and synthesis, including through application of artificial intelligence (AI).
Youth-Led Communications
The future of climate solutions belongs to, and will be led by, today's youth. A youth-led communications program will feature climate solutions on a YouTube video channel and podcast, and on other media channels. Facilitated interview conversations between students and experts will advance the engagement, power, and the fundamental role of youth in climate solutions and broader societal transformation.
Reports and Publications
Accessible roadmaps and guidance for selecting and implementing climate solutions are also urgently needed by all interested parties. Such strategic roadmaps and related synthesis will manifest as accessible reports, peer-reviewed journal articles, online and meeting-based presentations, proceedings, books, published games, etc.
